THEO

THEO IS FOSTERED IN INNISFIL, ON.

Theo is a 12ish week old cute ball of puppy energy. He arrived from a Northern Ontario community we work closely with, where he was used to living outside 24/7. You would never know it though as he adapted to living in a house like he has his whole life!

So far we have learned:
- He comes to his name “Theo” or “Puppy” 95% of the time. He only struggles when there are big distractions.
- Good on leash (needs more training as he is a puppy). His walks currently aren’t structured. Squirrels were a little distracting but he could continue waking and ignoring them.
- Loves chewing/playing with his toys.
- Naturally has a good sit when putting his leash on or at thresholds (doorways to outside)
- Practicing “wait/stay” before feeding him and learning ques like down, stay, come, bed etc.
- Is currently working on potty training. He will pee after a good play session. However he has asked to go outside to potty a few times by running to the door and sitting at it.
- Crate trained.
- Was good to have his nails trimmed. 
- Good in the car.
- Loves other dogs/cats. He does have a puppy like tendency where he just wants to jump all over the other dogs kissing them etc. So he will need a home that can advocate for the other dog to ensure they get along. He is slowly learning “no” in these moments and will stop harassing the other dog and lay down or go back to playing with his toys.
- Doesn’t bark for no reason. He will bark at his toys if they get out of reach or at other dogs if they took his toy. However is easily distracted by another toy and stops barking right away.
- Very food motivated
- Loves to snuggle

Some things he needs to work on:
- Not getting upset if he can’t go see a cat out of reach.
Leaving shoes alone.
- Still working on potty training. However goes days without an accident.
Overtime leash training.
- Basic age appropriate commands/manners as he gets older.
- Not jumping up to see people.
- Not trying to counter surf. Theo has shown more of a lazy side and loves to nap. However he has been up for any adventure in his foster home.

Theo would do best with a home that can give him clear boundaries and expectations to set him up for success, as he is still a baby who is learning.If you’re interested in adopting Theo, apply below!
